Success Stories

At Community Housing Concepts, we measure our success by the positive changes we have made in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. The greatest testaments to our work are the letters of thanks that we receive. Here are some of our inspiring success stories.

Dear Community Housing Concepts,

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. I’m grateful to had been given the opportunity to be a Gary Manor Resident for 7 lucky years. Lowincome housing helped me get on my feet and now it is my time to go and for someone else to be given the same opportunity. I hope that more people think of HUD housing as an stepping stool and an opportunity to better themselves. Thank you so much.

Dear CHC,

I just wanted to express my sincere and personal thanks to you for accommodating Rory with his beautiful apartment. I was very apprehensive how the move would affect his disposition and was already informed by his medical practitioners that he could suffer from separation anxiety and emotional detachment. I can honestly say that he does not suffer from either at the moment. I did a walk through with Rory, his Brother, and his therapist, to see what reaction he would have and we all agree, he was never happier. He marveled at the view and was excited to know that he would be able to leave the blinds open without being disturbed by passersby, and really got a sense of belonging. He walked through every room with great anticipation to immediately begin unpacking. Both his Brother and I, have been helping him put things where he would like and, has become very responsible. It has really been an amazing transformation. His neighbors are great and, he loves his sense of security.

I would hope that the change has given him something to look forward to. It really seems to be working. Rory still suffers from many mental conditions that must still be handled by a variety of cocktail psychotropic medications to maintain a social posture but, we have noticed he is more responsive and has even picked up his 12 string guitar to try to regain his classical abilities again. He is reading more and studying his music and is always ready to reanimate his musical talents for us all. This is a huge step in the right direction. We are all hopeful that his mental outlook will be much more assertive and positive. He has always been very organized and really likes his surroundings clean and precise. He is very fastidious and likes things in the right place. Cleanliness has never been a problem with his surroundings. I have not seen Rory this excited about anything for a very long time. He is even talking about taking the bus now to his medical appointments. I could never thank you enough.

I know that this entire ordeal has been very arduous for you both. The level of personal care that you have given the individuals at San Juan is well noted by me as well as others. Your staff and contractors, should also be given great praise for their very hard work and dedication for a job very well done. It has been an extreme pleasure to work with you both through this. This undertaking is on a monumental scale and I am quite sure, that not all at San Juan have not been very cooperative with your mission. This letter of appreciation may not reach the masses but, I hope that it at least will make a difference.

Dear Management,

You may not hear this often enough. As I write to give you a required 30 day notice to vacate, I want to offer my sincere gratitude to you, your staff, management and owner. The social net created by our government may not be perfect, but you and this building helped save my life. I not only was provided with a safe and affordable housing option, I was granted freedom of self direction because of your work here, and that of Monroe Group, and the owner, Community Housing Concepts. When I became ill with a spinal injury I was forced to move from my home because I could no longer afford to pay both my medical bills and my rent. This affordable housing apartment community is wonderful because I have been able to live near the neighborhood lost to me during my spinal failure and it is only blocks from my old home and the world I knew. I was allowed to have my own space despite my bodies’ failure to support itself. I feel very lucky to have lived here.

Thank you for your kind service!

To Whom it May Concern:

This letter is in regards to my stay at the Centennial Apartments. I have lived here for 29 years and have seen lots of changes. In recent months I’ve noticed positive changes such as the New Beginnings Church that has come to our site and helped our community by giving out backpacks, school supplies and all around help to students in need. This is a big plus for us. I hope that our Community Manager will continue to use her abilities in a positive way.

To Whom it May Concern,

I’ve lived in several apartment buildings in my life, but the East Central Towers have been my most pleasant experience so far. The staff is friendly and compassionate as well as sensitive to each tenants needs. The community and other tenants has helped me more that I can say. I moved in with no furniture, food, or anything else and within one day, I had everything I needed. To sum it up, East Central Towers is a wonderful place to live!

Thank you,

- Kristin S.

Dear Community Housing Concepts,

Being legally blind, I have found the living conditions at East Central to be most accessible. The people are very nice and helpful. I think the staff is very helpful.

Thank you,

Norman S.

Hello Community Housing Concepts,

I have been living here about 16 years and this has been the best experience in a long time, it feels like home here. Now I love my new apartment. The staff is wonderful here at East Central Towers. I will be here the rest of my life with you, the staff that care. Thank you East Central Towers.

To Whom it May Concern,

I’m Dollie Cory and I just want you to know how good living in East Central Towers has been. I have been here about 2 years and it has come a long way. Keep up the good work, we love the staff here.

Thank you,

- Dolly C.

To Whom it May Concern,

Ever since I moved in (mid-January) the people and staff at East Central Towers have been more than friendly and helpful. Some went as far as helping me get furniture in my place. When I first moved in, I was sort of apprehensive about being here. Now I am quite satisfied and happy here. And it is centrally located and on a bus line which is so convenient for me.

Thank you,

- Mr. Richard H.

To Whom it May Concern,

My name is Krisandra Wilson and I’ve been at East Central Towers for three years and there is a big difference from when I first moved in. It is a lot cleaner and not so many people running around. I am glad of the new management. I used to be ashamed of what people were saying about the tower but now I am not. The man that works in the building does a very good job at what gets done and they are really nice to you when you ask for something. They stop doing what they were doing to give you what you need and I really personally like the change. The lady in the office is very nice and they care about the living over here.

Thank you,

- Krisandra
